TradeTestr ("we", "us", "our") operates tradetestr.com ("the Platform"). We respect your privacy and design our platform to collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we use it.

2. No Account Required

TradeTestr does not require user accounts. You can use the backtester and broker directory without registering, logging in, or providing any personal information. No name, no email, no phone number — unless you choose to email results to yourself (see Section 4).

3. Data We Collect Automatically

When you visit tradetestr.com, we may collect:

• • Anonymous usage analytics: Page views, tool usage, approximate location (country-level), device type. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. No cross-site tracking, no ad personalisation.
• • Server logs: Standard web server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) retained for security and debugging. IPs are not linked to personal identities.
• • Backtest parameters: Strategy settings, instrument selection, and risk parameters are processed in real-time to generate results. This data is not stored — results are returned immediately and not persisted.

4. Email Results Feature

If you use the "email results" feature, you provide your email address so we can send your backtest summary. Your email is used solely for this one-time transmission and is not stored, added to a mailing list, or used for marketing without your explicit consent.

5. Cookies

TradeTestr uses minimal cookies. Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies for anonymous usage measurement. No third-party advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no social media cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser without affecting backtester functionality.

6. Affiliate Links

Some links in our broker directory are affiliate links. When you click these links, the broker may set cookies to track referrals. These cookies are controlled by the respective brokers, not TradeTestr. We do not share your data with brokers — the tracking is broker-side via their own affiliate systems.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• • Google Analytics 4: Anonymous usage analytics (IP anonymised, no ad personalisation)
• • Yahoo Finance (yfinance): Historical market data for backtesting
• • Render: Web hosting and API infrastructure
• • Cloudflare: CDN and SSL

Each service has its own privacy policy governing data they process.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR (EU/UK) and POPIA (South Africa), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we don't maintain user accounts or store personal data, most of these rights are automatically satisfied — we simply don't have your data to delete. For analytics-related data, you can opt out by disabling cookies in your browser.

9. Children's Privacy

TradeTestr is not directed at children under 18. CFD trading and backtesting are adult financial activities. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this privacy policy as the platform evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
